1st Edition - Rajiv K Luthra Memorial Lecture - 30/11/25

  • The Rajiv K Luthra Foundation, in association with NLSIU Bangalore, organized the first edition of the Rajiv K Luthra Memorial Lecture. The event opened with welcome remarks by Prof. Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Vice-Chancellor, NLSIU.  The inaugural lecture was delivered by Prof. Dev Gangjee, University of Oxford on the topic “Tools or Partners? Hybrid Human–AI Creativity and the Boundaries of Copyright.” 


  • The lecture was followed by a discussion featuring Prof. Gangjee, Prof. Eashan Ghosh (DPIIT-Chair, National Law University Delhi) and Dr. Arul George Scaria, Professor of Law, NLSIU.  The session concluded with an engaging Q&A with the audience. Mrs. Gayatri Luthra and Mr. Ananya Gaur spoke on behalf of the foundation. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Sidharth Chauhan, NLSIU. 

Dev GaNGJEE

  • Professor Dev Gangjee is a distinguished Professor of Intellectual Property Law at Oxford University and a highly regarded Rhodes Scholar. His expertise lies at the intersection of international trade and intangible assets, with a particular focus on the complex legal regimes governing geographical indications (GIs) and trademark protection. 

EASHAN GHOSH

  • Professor Eashan Ghosh is a leading scholar in Intellectual Property and Digital Law, currently serving as the DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor at the National Law University, Delhi. His research delves into cutting-edge areas, including the evolving landscape of copyright law, the regulation of major digital platforms, and the complex legal challenges surrounding data governance. 

Mrs. Gayatri Luthra, Chairperson, Rajiv K Luthra Foundation, also visited the NLSIU campus and spent time interacting with the dedicated construction workers, security guards, and mess staff at NLSIU, sharing sweets to celebrate the commemorative spirit of the inaugural lecture. She also reviewed the ongoing construction and expansion at the Rajiv K Luthra Academic Wing, NLSIU.

Rajiv K. Luthra Memorial Colloquium - Bennett University

  • In association with  the Centre for Constitutional Law Studies at the School of Law, Bennett University, the foundation organised its first event on the 25th of November 2023,  a colloquium on "Modern Technology, AI and Constitutional Rights: An Intersectional Insight". The event was in honour of Rajiv Luthra's life, work, and contributions within the legal landscape of India.  


  • The colloquium was a part of the University's celebration of "Constitution Week",  a series of events which came to an end with valedictory remarks given by the former Chief Justice of India Mr. Deepak Verma.


  • Our panel of speakers comprised of two eminent legal personalities - Senior Advocate Gopal Sankaranarayan and Advocate Malvika Rajkotia. 

Malvika Rajkotia

  • Malvika Rajkotia is one of the country's most successful lawyers in the field of family law, and a distinguished author. She leads Rajkotia Associates, a leading multidisciplinary law firm specialising in matrimonial and property law. She was the anchor on Shakti, the first television talk show in India that focused on women's rights.

Gopal Sankaranarayanan

  • Gopal Sankaranarayanan is the youngest advocate to be designated as a "Senior Advocate" in the last 25 years - a distinguished authority on constitutional law, he assisted in drafting the Constitution of Bhutan. His legal practice includes a significant amount of pro bono work and public interest litigation, addressing issues such as electoral independence, right to water, marital rape, man-animal conflict, clean air in India, and tree protection.
